Islamabad: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has firmly stated that the country will not compromise on even a single drop of its rightful share of water under international agreements.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad on Monday, Dar accused India of pushing the region towards conflict and endangering millions of lives. He emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to peace and will not contribute to escalating tensions in the region.
"We have always advocated for peace in the region," Dar asserted, addressing the international community. "You need to work on the other party, not us. I give you my word — we will show restraint."
He strongly condemned India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a severe violation of international law. Dar warned that Pakistan will not allow any compromise on its water rights and stressed that India has no unilateral authority to suspend or terminate the treaty.
The Deputy Prime Minister urged the international community to take notice of India's actions and uphold the principles of justice and international law.
